Political Organization 2010

Gladsaxe Municipality is based on an active participatory democracy where citizens participate in the decision-making process. This also involves an extended decentralization of the municipal functions. Gladsaxe City Council has 25 councillors elected for 4 years.

Its monthly meetings are public, and the gallery is often crowded by listeners. All citizens may put questions to the city council, and they get an immediate response.

The citizens are also assured direct influence through user boards in a number of the municipal institutions and through active collaboration between the munici¬pality and local organisations.
